Portage River Bicycle Tour - 6/23/2024

Starting at Woodmore High School in Elmore OH and following the Portage River, this flat ride offers routes of 10, 31, 62, and 100 miles! Registration is 7-11 AM on Sunday, June 23.  You can find more route and registration information on the Maumee Valley Adventurers website.

2024 Ride of Silence

Wednesday at 7 p.m. over 200 cyclists met at the University of Toledo and in Bowling Green as part of an international movement to remember people who have been injured or killed while riding a bicycle. The cyclists participated in a slow-paced public ride, bringing awareness to safety and bicyclists’ right to use public roadways.

30th Anniversary for Wabash Cannonball Trail

Thirty years ago today, the Wabash Cannonball Trail was created from 64 miles of former railroad corridor property. Then the Northwestern Ohio Rails-to-Trails Association (NORTA) needed only 2 days to clean up 2.5 miles on the South Fork in order to declare that section of trail open for business! Commemorate the anniversary by visiting the Wabash Cannonball website and taking a ride on the trail this spring!

Court Decision Paves the Way for Maumee to Downtown Toledo Bike Path

Exciting news for cyclists and pedestrians in Maumee and downtown Toledo! A recent decision from Lucas County Common Pleas Court has brightened the prospects for a bicycle and walking path extending all the way from Maumee into downtown Toledo. Despite potential appeals, Judge Gary Cook's ruling against a lawsuit by Toledo Country Club marks a significant step forward.
