Read The Blade's article on the new north/south rail trail that will eventually link West Toledo to Perrysburg. The northern section parallels Sherbrooke/Douglas Rd. and will connect with the existing University / Parks trail at UT's main campus. There's still time to participate in a bike tour before winter sets in. The Irish Hills Tour is this Sunday and the Tombstone Tour is Oct. 25th. More info at Maumee Valley Adventurers.

Ride out to Sylvania, OH this weekend for a couple cycling activities. On Saturday, it's Family Bike Day and Sunday is the 4th-Annual Sylvania Cycling Classic.

On Saturday, August 2nd, join the Toledo Area Bicyclists for a ride along the Maumee River.  After the ride, relax and enjoy a delicious Chicken BBQ Lunch at the YMCA from 11am to 4pm.  Rest stops will be well-stocked with homemade cookies, fruit and drinks.  The BBQ replaces the pancake breakfast this year so be sure you don't start out hungry!
