Ohio has an extensive network of mountain biking trails that cater to riders of all skill levels. REI published an article about The Best Mountain Bike Rides in Ohio. The article features 10 trails in different areas of Ohio, and includes the Beach Ridge Bike Trail in Swanton!

Toledo's first public bike share program launches today! The launch event will be held from 3:30-5:30pm at Middlegrounds Metropark. There will be 100 bikes at 17 hubs scattered through the city. For more information on the event check out the ToleGO Facebook page.

“We’re excited to partner with Gotcha to provide a bike share system as an affordable and convenient public transportation option,” said Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz  to 13 ABC. “The benefits of bike share have been proven in other communities, and this system will make riding accessible to more people.”

The Tombstone Bicycle Tour is a winding ride that passes 6 cemeteries, historic Providence Metropark, allowing riders to visit the working Lock on the Miami and Erie Canal. You can choose from the 15 mile ride, a 25 mile loop, or combine both routes for more than 40 miles! There is also a Family Haunted Ride, designed for families with riders under 12 with an option to ride either 3 or 5 miles. All children who participate in the Family Haunted Ride will receive a goody bag!

Date: Sunday, October 21th, 2018

Location: Tour begins and ends Buehner Center at the Mallard Lake area

Requirements:  Wear a helmet, costume optional!

Join the 2018 Irish Hills Bike Tour through the varied terrain of Northwestern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan! The choice of 10, 31, 65, and 100 mile routes make this ride perfect for riders of all skill levels! Kids are also encouraged to participate to the extent of their abilities.

Date: Sunday, September 16th, 2018 (check in 7:30AM- 10AM)

Location: Tour begins and ends at Centennial Terrace, 5773 Centennial Road, Sylvania, Ohio.

Requirements:  Wear an ANSI/Snell/CPSC approved HELMET while riding.

The 11-mile Beach Ridge Singletrack Trail is complete and the Toledo Metroparks is celebrating with a dedication and volunteer recognition. The event is Saturday, September 15 at 10 a.m. at the Springbrook Area of Oak Openings Preserve on SR-64.
